FINAL DAY - ON THE SOUTH WEST COAST PATH
On Friday 6th May I travelled to Somerset to stay at Holnicote House near the village of Selworthy, from where I would lead walks on and around Exmoor for HF Holidays.

Like all the HF houses, Holnicote house was a lovely place to stay, and by the late afternoon nearly 30 guests had arrived for a week of walking. Along with my two co-leaders, guests were guided on walks along the Doone Valley, the Two Moors Way and the South West Coast Path, visiting Watersmeet, Dunster, Simonsbath and Lynmouth, amongst other places. I summarised the plot of R D Blackmore's Lorna Doone as my group walked along the Doone Valley.

The evening meals were superb, as usual, and as Social Co-ordinator I made sure that there was something to entertain guests in the evenings.

Only problem was that I had a cold for the whole week, but managed to persuade myself that being outside was probably the best thing for it.
